LANDFILL RESTRICTIONS: WHAT NOT TO THROW AWAY
The following materials are banned from the landfills by both the Greater Vancouver Regional District and the Fraser Valley Regional District. Therefore, these cannot be put in Front End Containers, they must be recycled.
In some cases, these materials can be put in Roll Off Bins. However, be sure to check with Maple Leaf Disposal before doing so.
Batteries
MLD Offers a customized Battery Recycling Program.
Paint Cans
Special arrangements can be made to pick-up Large amounts of Non-Hazardous Paint Cans.
Oils
Most retail stores or gas stations that sell motor oil will take used motor oil and containers at no charge.
Flammable Liquids & Other Chemicals
For gasoline, flammable liquids and pesticides, and all other chemicals, call the Recycling Council of BC Hotline at 1-800-667-4321.
Asbestos
For asbestos, call a specialized asbestos disposal company. Check your local phone directory.
Ceiling Tiles
A manifest must be provided & accompanying each load to the recycling facility to prove there are no materials containing asbestos in the load.
