We are also members of Independent Contractors and Business Associations. ICBA continues to be the champion of open tendering and fair treatment for all contractors, regardless of their union affiliations. The association also offers a full suite of member services, including affinity programs, health benefits, and much more.

In the mid 1990’s, Maple Leaf Disposal teamed up with Polygon Construction, and the GVRD, to do a job site recycling pilot project. This pilot project was highly successful and was the impetus for Metro Vancouver’s construction and demolition sector, to exceed 75% diversion, well in excess of Metro Vancouver’s IC&I (Industrial, Commercial & Institutional) sector. Since stepping into the IC&I sector wholeheartedly in 2005, Maple Leaf has accepted the Zero Waste Challenge head-on by developing diversion programs to meet our customers growing and ever-changing needs. Starting with cardboard collection in 2005, paper and e-waste in 2007 and adding glass, metal and plastics in 2008. Since 2008we’ve added batteries, fluorescent tubes, small appliances, Styrofoam, organics and green waste recycling to our stable of waste diversion services. Our goal is to implement easy to use recycling services that our customers can use and train their staff to manage with little effort.
